The next adventure was hoof trimming. Salute is so easy going and good with all things, that sometimes I forget he is only two and is still learning.
How many two year stud colts allow their owners to easily trim their hooves?
Following the same practice I use with all of my horses, I set out the hoof stand and the trimming implements on the ground next to me. I’m going about the trimming and set his hoof down and walk away to get something, and Salute readjusts himself, and in the process bumps into and then steps in the carrier of trimming implements. Many horses would have pulled back or caused a terrible raucous resulting in injury to themselves. Salute stood there and waited for and then allowed me to free him from the situation. Phew!
